The Dresden Dolls
I believe I incorrectly stated I would be performing as part of the Dresden Dolls Brigade. As I understand it, the Brigade is the motley group of performers who do stuff like street performances and the like. Whereas we were a supporting act, proper. See? We’re listed on the poster! Well, my partner is. And the guy who I was the understudy for.
The sketch went well both nights, but we definitely didn’t get as good a reaction in New York as we did in Boston… though the applause at the end was decently loud.

I Like Seeing Myself Upon Flipping Through Channels
Last night VSLF and I were chilling on the sofa watching music videos on NYC 25’s New York Noise show, when what should appear but the video for the Burnside Project’s ditty One to One. Hey, lookit! I’m on the TV!
As long as I’m on the subject, I just want to say that the music videos played on New York Noise are generally pretty good. I am now “into” Of Montreal. Here is the video that charmed me.

MTV2’s Sexy Champions
I got an email last night from the members of successful geniune NYC band Dynasty, who played soon-to-be-successful fake suburban band “The Sexy Champions” in an MTV2 commercial (for On The Rise — popups ahoy!) I was in late last year. They’ve put up a site (sexychampions.com, of course) at which one can watch said commercial.
I’m a little disappointed at how it turned out, ’cause I came up with all kinds of things to say as my indie-rock-nerd character:
…and you don’t get to hear any of them, ’cause I end up just being in the background.
Dynasty is/are very nice people. I like their song, “Hypnotized”

I totally forgot to post our last show (which went very well, in my humble opinion).
