The Funeral is now premiering at this year’s Aspen ShortsFest. We’re pretty psyched for audiences in both Aspen and Phoenix (as previously announced) to screen our most ambitious film to-date, not to mention the chance for some winter skiing in the Rockies. See the blurb below detailing the highlights of the Aspen ShortsFest, and come west with us. We’re told that The Funeral will be shown the aftenoon of Saturday, April 4th. We’ll post more information as it’s released.

So, I won Best Actor and The Wildflower placed 3rd.

In addition, Barbara Singer of Mrs. Jones (directed by Jonathan Emmerling, who directed last year’s The Switch) won Best Actress!

Not to be shallow (I’m not, but I know some of you are), but I understand the judges’ll be some, like, pretty famous peeps — last year Naomi Watts and Matt Dillon were two of ‘em. Maybe Robert DeNiro will ask you to save his seat when he goes for a pee. You can blog about it later.

So: I hope you’ll join my friends and me for what will, at the very least, be some pretty good short films. And maybe some wine, if we can bring wine in. (Probably not.) Entertainment starts at 5, and the screening starts around 8 (about when I imagine I’ll get there).

Join Gnome Camp for our 2007 fundraiser extravaganza! The gnomes are hard at work at their underground compound in the forest of Brooklyn preparing art, music, dance, performance and magical activities designed to inspire and excite the senses.

Gnome Love, last year’s HH field trip fundraiser, was a blast and this year we’re using Friday so you don’t have to work the next day! All camp profits go to purchasing gnomes and cameras to be sent on adventures at Burning Man 2007.

There will be a magnificent dinner party feast from 7:30pm – 9pm! Please try to RSVP if you would like to join the feast spectacular, although walk ins are still welcome! A full meal will cost $20 – $30, plus $7 for the party.

In two days, there will be a short (two days) run of the short (fifteen minutes) play that I’m in. It’s a sweet little romantic comedy about two strangers that meet and unexpectedly connect. Mina has a lump in her breast and it’s resisting the chemo therapy. Her doctor recommends she have a mastectomy, but she’s only 28 years old. She has two weeks to decide whether keeping her breast is worth risking her life. Will Mina’s parents have the right answer? Will her best friend know what to do? How about her local stripper or porn shop employee? The fact of the matter is that everyone has an opinion about breasts, and Mina is determined to examine as many sides as she can before making a decision that will change her life forever. Jackie Rosenfeld’s play is a touching and deeply funny exploration of one woman’s journey to define her breasts and herself.
