If you haven’t watched it yet, I hope you will. I think it’s pretty great.

Online mentions:
Untucked Films says:
The Funeral is now premiering at this year’s Aspen ShortsFest. We’re pretty psyched for audiences in both Aspen and Phoenix (as previously announced) to screen our most ambitious film to-date, not to mention the chance for some winter skiing in the Rockies. See the blurb below detailing the highlights of the Aspen ShortsFest, and come west with us. We’re told that The Funeral will be shown the aftenoon of Saturday, April 4th. We’ll post more information as it’s released.

Exciting!
I play a Gonorrhea-promoting doctor in this Atom Films/Comedy Central short that just got put on the web:
We want it to get as many “hits” (to use the parlance of the interwebs) so that they’ll hire Untucked (yes, it is another Untucked Films project) to make more! So please take a look, and if you find it to be suitably funny, SHOW YOUR FRIENDS AND TELL THEM TO PASS IT ON OR YOU WILL NOT BE THEIR FRIEND ANY MORE.
The weather reports all said it would rain heavily, but Friday night was actually very pleasant (despite the low turnout).
So, I won Best Actor and The Wildflower placed 3rd.

In addition, Barbara Singer of Mrs. Jones (directed by Jonathan Emmerling, who directed last year’s The Switch) won Best Actress!
Tropfest just put the finalists up on YouTube. Here’s The Wildflower:
Those of you who’ve seen “The Switch” might notice that I am getting typecast as an undateable weirdo. LOVE IT.
And here’s Mrs. Jones:
I starred in a short film (The Wildflower) that will be screened next Friday in Battery Park City as one of eight finalists in this year’s Tropfest NY. They’re also going to play a selection of finalists from last year, including The Switch which *cough* also starred yours truly and came in 3rd place. So I’m going to be on the big screen twice that night. Which is exciting.
Hey! We refilmed one scene in The Switch and you can now see it at Untucked Films’s site:

The Message is another one I quite enjoyed being in. Dare I say… starring in? Please take a look:

And two that I’m not in but you should watch anyway because they made me LLOL:

Tropfest@Tribeca has put all of its finalists online. Watch The Switch:

The Switch took third place at last night’s Tropfest@Tribeca. Woo!
Here’s an NYU newsletter piece about The Switch.
And a NY Daily News thingy on the event.
On September 23, “The Switch” (dir. Jonathan Emmerling) will be one of sixteen short films (chosen from 161 submissions) premiering at Tropfest@Tribeca, a “free public outdoor short film festival” at Battery Park. I play Tom, the sad sack who’s so bad with the laydeez he’s never been on a second date. He finally meets an attractive someone who totally “gets” him and “crushes on” him and whatnot, but it’s a dude! Laughter, tears, lessons, etc. ensue. Watch a short clip here.
Not to be shallow (I’m not, but I know some of you are), but I understand the judges’ll be some, like, pretty famous peeps — last year Naomi Watts and Matt Dillon were two of ‘em. Maybe Robert DeNiro will ask you to save his seat when he goes for a pee. You can blog about it later.
So: I hope you’ll join my friends and me for what will, at the very least, be some pretty good short films. And maybe some wine, if we can bring wine in. (Probably not.) Entertainment starts at 5, and the screening starts around 8 (about when I imagine I’ll get there).
YAY
Jonathan
